I can't believe it's already the middle of 2022, so crazy how this year has flown by! I've been a bit negligent with my website, really focusing on growing my Instagram and podcast this year. I still not sure whether having this website is what God wants me to do in this season, or whether I focus solely on reaching people with the message of hope on Instagram and through my podcast. Posting on here has been sporadic and spontaneous, I haven't seen much success through it so have put it on the backburner. Therefore, for those of you who don't follow my Instagram or listen to my podcast, I wanted to give a little update on what has been happening in the world is She is Living Hopeful over the past 6 months.
This year was when I launched my podcast! Up to this point, I have done 20 episodes, which have been mostly solo episodes, but have had 3 episodes with guests which has been amazing. I truly prefer this style, I love having hopeful conversations with people of all walks of life, seeing what God has been doing in their life and hearing what they have to say. Overall, my podcasting experience has been up and down, with great interest at the start and interest slowly dropping off as the weeks go by. What I've held onto through this is the fact that even if just one person hears what I have to say, one person sees hope, one person is led closer to Jesus as a result, than it's all that matters. It's not the quantity of people you influence that makes your words important, but who has given you those words, and if people are truly listening to what you have to say!
My favourite episodes I've done so far (and I recommend you check out) are:
Hope in burnout and depression with Jess Livick. Jess was the first guest i had on the podcast, and her words of wisdom from her own experiences of burnout and depression were so insightful and communicated that you can get through even the toughest of seasons with God. I'm so thankful for Jess coming on the podcast and loved chatting with her. Listen here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4W0K3dHiCUmv35zbXGhcMY?si=6b52dc9b68c14d33
Hope in your title. This episode was really me talking through a revelation I'd had with God around identity and feeling unqualified. Content and conversation that comes directly from personal revelation is always the most genuine. Listen here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/23Al71CI22cVSQ8NymzxxE?si=0c040ef76a94423f
Have Hope with Rachael Masters: This episode is coming out this Saturday, and probably my favourite conversation to date. I talked to Rachael about the process of her writing her devotional book, "Have Hope." The way she kept faithful to the calling God had placed in her life through writing this book is so inspiring! I have made a switch in how I'm doing things with my Instagram being an extension of my podcast, not vice versa. I have based all this content on what I spoke about on the podcast that week, with a few other words of encouragement sprinkled in there. This has made everything more focused, and overall of a better quality.
And although my follower count hasn't increased that much, I know that social media followers and podcast listeners don't make me important, He does. What I've learnt is that if I'm focusing on the numbers, I'm treasuring them over God and what He has told me to do. And I know that in His perfect timing, the content I'm creating will get to the right person for God to be glorified in their life.
I'm working on a few things behind the scenes, which I'm very excited to reveal soon. Thank you so much for all of your support, it means the world to me!
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. - Colossians 3:1-4
