Our needs will always be met

There was a study done in the UK recently, and it showed that three out of ten employers were making redundancies. 30% of workplaces are being subjected to redundancies and for all of their financial security to be lost. And in New Zealand last year, 14.3% of the workforce were made redundant or let go. And it's forecast for this to increase.

This thought alone is enough is frighten people, cause them to worry and become anxious over their financial security.

In the day-to-day, we can often be so tunelled in on our present situation that we miss God in the picture. We often don't scale back and realise that it's all part of God's intricate plan for our lives. And sometimes we forget about God's control of our lives. Sometimes we forget about God being in the picture, instead going to our capabilities, and doing the things that we think are right. These worries are being blown up by the state of the world at the moment, which can cause us to be in such a panic.

However, in this tough time, we can lean on God to provide for all our needs and sustain us.

Matthew 6:25-27 says, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

This passage is saying that we don't have to worry because God is the one that sustains us. And He is the one that provides for us. He gives these pure examples of the birds in the sky and how they don't worry about where their next meal is going to come from. They don't store away what they need and be greedy in this. They don't exert themselves. They don't do above and beyond just so they can get by. They just do what they have to do and trust that God will provide them with the rest.

And this is what God wants us to do. We shouldn't be relying on things of the earth, shouldn't be worrying about how much money is in our bank account, shouldn't be storing away all of this stuff just so we can get by instead of living in the present moment and doing what God tells you to do and that moment.

God wants us to fully trust in His providence for our lives.
